Scheduling social media training in a town where your company is a completely unknown could be challenging. However, the result-based training program of Jay Dee Media has won the day!
We arrived at the 3-year-in-a-row Lizella –Award winning Dibiki Holiday Resort outside Hartenbos, on the Garden Route, with absolutely no idea of what to expect from the mix of tourism related attendees we were to train the next day. we left with 10 of the most enthusiastic, appreciative product owners and managers we have met in a long, long time!
Dibiki Holiday Resort is a 4-star holiday resort that offers fully grassed camping sites, immaculate wooden self-catering chalets and Luxury Safari tents as accommodation. They also have facilities for functions and a Lapa next to the swimming pool is also available. The latest addition to the resort is the much-needed coffee shop serving freshly baked eateries, breakfasts and light lunches.
We were met by our the very friendly Pretorius hosts, Martie her husband and later also their daughter who runs Travelbiki , a travel booking company that adds value to Dibiki offering guests advice about what to do and see in the area.
Out complimentary accommodation was modern, stylishly furnished with all the modern facilities that made Dibiki seasonally fully booked 5 years in advance!
The next morning we enjoyed a hearty breakfast in the coffee shop and by now, feeling quite at home, we met the friendly hospitality people of Mosselbay.
The Social Media for Small Business Seminar was, as everywhere Jeanette presented it, received with complete amazement because of the unknown possibilities within the grasp of every business. The fact that they have not yet harnessed the power of social media to grow their companies was sheer ignorance. A new world opened to this small group and they were hungry for more!
When we left a date was set for the specially developed 2–day training course two weeks thereafter.
On 26-27 October we returned with a specially developed, hands-on training course focusing on a few identified social media channels and customised with their own photos, logos and company data, each on their own device. We showed them to set up accounts, post in the channels, share with friends, identify their target markets, schedule their posts, managed it and read the analytics to monitor the progress. At the end of the 2nd day, they were all able to market their businesses via social media and thereby increasing their customer base by more than a hundred-fold!
